PSA or JSA or MLB or Upperdeck? So many COA which one is best? The classic answer "it depends" applies to the question of which Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is the best one. Each company has their points of differentiation over the others, the good news is they are all reliable and very good at authenticating signatures.
PSA is my personal favorite for a few reasons:
1. They have a long and outstanding reputation in the industry
2. Their online database is extensive and easy to verify that an item has been authenticated by PSA
3. Their hologram stickers are very difficult to remove
JSA is a close second for many of the same reasons, the only reason that I prefer PSA is the amount of information they include with each authenticated item.
Other companies including UpperDeck and Steiner Sports do a great job but have lagged behind PSA & JSA in terms of providing a searchable database of COA serial numbers.
MLB certifications are very good for MLB baseballs, jerseys, photos etc because a MLB representative is present for each item that receives the MLB COA. PSA & JSA offer this same type of service called ITP and Witness Protection Program respectively.
